I strongly disagree with the star rating.Our room (no 343)was a huge disappointment and nothing like the website photos - an expensive experience for South Africans.In fairness,the manager did offer an alternate room on request,but as disappointing.

The rooms are modern and recently renovated, offering a pleasant view over the canal. the hotel's location is magnificent, right on the Grand Canal next to St Mark's Square. - It's conveniently situated near the Murano-Garden, water bus stops, and major attractions within a 5-minute walk. - the buffet breakfast is exceptional.

The hotel was easy to access by water taxi and very close to the bustle of St. Marks square.
The elevator was barely big enough for one person. The room safe could not accommodate more than a few pieces of jewelry and the air conditioning didn't work in the room.
